In addition to our commitment to quality under the BRC standard, we are equally dedicated to animal welfare. We proudly comply with the Better Life label (Beter Leven Keurmerk) issued by the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals. This label, now appearing on more and more packaging, guarantees that the animals involved were raised under improved and more humane conditions.
The Better Life label not only encourages consumers to make more conscious choices—it also motivates farmers and slaughterhouses to adopt better practices. The more stars a product has, the better the life the animal has had. It’s a win-win situation: farmers are supported in transitioning to more animal-friendly methods, retailers gain a point of distinction, and consumers can enjoy their meat with greater peace of mind.

Halal Certification: Respecting Religious Beliefs
At De Koning Vlees, we are committed not only to the highest standards of quality but also to respecting religious beliefs. That’s why we offer a wide range of halal-certified meat products. Our halal meat production follows strict guidelines and is closely monitored by independent halal certification bodies.
It is important to note that our company as a whole is not HQC-certified. Instead, we work with batch-based halal certification. This means that each of our halal products receives its own certification for every production batch. This ensures that every batch fully complies with halal requirements—without compromising the high quality and safety standards we uphold.
This approach allows us to offer flexible and tailored halal deliveries, specifically aligned with the needs of our clients.
